A burst of effort can feel like progress. It is visible, energising and easy to admire. But change rarely asks for one heroic day. It asks what we are willing to return to.
Consistency is not repetition without thought. It is a relationship with practice: noticing, adjusting and choosing again. Each return makes the action more available when it matters.
The useful question may not be “How much can I do today?” but “What can I continue with care?”
